There is nothing in our sport quite like the Bassmaster Classic.
Between the Kevin VanDam talk of him going for three Classic wins in a row to the tough conditions, this year’s Classic on the Red River was a fun one to watch, as they all are.
In the end, Chris Lane notched his first Major win in the biggest tournament of the season, officially placing him among the elite in the sport in terms of reputation.
As for how he and the rest of the field rank after the event, now that’s a different story.

We received some interesting feedback when we decided to include the PAA in our Majors World Ranking. Some adamantly opposed it, while others – particularly professional anglers – applauded the decision.
Regardless of your stance, one look at some of the names in our ranking and it’s clear that some serious talent from both other major tours fishes the PAA. Now, having looked back to see who were the movers and shakers on the 2011 BASS Elite Series and FLW Tour the last two weeks, it’s time to do the same for the PAA.

There are still a few tournaments going on, but in the grand scheme of it all the 2011 season has officially come to a close.
So we wanted to look back on all that was the 2011 season. In this case, who were the pros that capitalized in 2011 and climbed our rankings, and who took steps back. We’ll start with the BASS Elite Series.
