At one time he was the No. 1-ranked Minor angler in the world. Now, Trevor Fitzgerald isn’t even on the rankings.
With the FLW EverStart Championship this weekend, we thought we’d check in to see if there had been any shuffling in the Minors-Only World Ranking in the last couple weeks. Well, we didn’t have to go far down the list to find a major change.
With Fitzgerald only sporadically fishing Minor events the last two seasons as well as fishing some FLW Tour Opens, when a 2010 Bass Open on Lake Seminole dropped off, so did he, as he no longer met the five-tournament criteria to be included in the ranking.
Meanwhile, Ryan Lovelace saw a different 2010 Bass Open on Lake Texoma drop off, one in which he didn’t do very well. So when it fell off his record, he jumped from 46th to 17th.
In fact, the Texoma and Seminole events dropping off helped a number of anglers, including Todd Castledine (28th to 22nd), Stephen Johnston (38th to 24th) and Keith Pace (41st to 25th), along with a few other subtle rises in the top 50.
Free Tackle Contest
Don’t forget your chance to snag some free tackle.
Bass Rankings and Tackle Grab have partnered together for a contest on Facebook, with one random winner receiving a free three-month subscription to TackleGrab.com.
Why is that such a big deal? For those who haven’t checked out the site (and you should), subscribers receive a box shipped to them each month with the newest and hottest baits on the market. No need to shop around for lures. The best ones get sent right to your door. Though, if you still need that one special color, the site also has an online store where you can find all the tackle you could need.
So how do you win three months of free tackle?
All you have to do is “like” the Bass Rankings and Tackle Grab Facebook pages. Share this flyer on your personal Facebook page. Then check back on Bass Rankings’ Facebook page on November 5 to see if you won.
Good luck!
