Movers & Shakers: Regional Update

0

Intense rains didn’t stop the nine regional events this weekend — ABA Weekend Series on Pickwick, Grand Lake, Lake Oconee, and FLW BFLs on the Potomac River, Center Hill Lake, Ross Barnett Reservoir, Kentucky Lake, Lake Toho and South Holston Lake. They just made the fishing a little more difficult.

Still, someone always figures them out. Take Brandon Medlock. The Florida angler finished third at Toho and debuted at No. 6 this week in the Regional Ranking.

Meanwhile, Blake Ellison earned a top 20 at Grand Lake, but that actually hurt his average and slipped him from fourth to ninth. As I’ve stressed before, it’s ridiculously hard to be at the top of this ranking. Just ask Jim Folks, who was in 13th until he finished 55th at Toho and dropped to 41st.

Some notable rises and debuts in the top 20 include Don Demott debuting at No. 15, Donny Bass debuting at No. 16, Troy Oliver debuting at No. 19, and Stephen Dyer rocketing up to No. 20 from 42nd.
