Leading the Charge

Fishing is and always has been a male-dominated sport. Yet, the ladies on the LBAA are doing their best to change that, one in particular: Pam Martin-Wells.

As the LBAA continues to gain traction and grow, we may see new female talent enter our sport. For now, Martin-Wells is already proving to be quite talented. As are a couple other women.

Consistent Co-Anglers

Co-anglers are an interesting topic, one with no shortage of debates.

Yet, no matter how you view them, the fact remains that despite having no control over where or how they fish in a given day, some co-anglers are pretty darn consistent. To do that requires a unique skill set, which can translate over to an eventual career in the front of the boat.

With that in mind, we wanted to take a look at some of the top co-anglers currently in our sport. Word is, you’ll be seeing a few of these names on the pro side in 2012.

Rankings Expand to 2003

While it will be some time before we can get all the way back to the 50s, we are working hard every day to expand our rankings inventory. Some of that hard work has recently been updated to the site, as users can now view results and perform Custom Searches back to 2003.

Trend Watch: Minors

We wanted to give the Minors-only level anglers their props. So we decided to use our Trending feature to showcase who seem to be the up-and-comers to watch in the Minors and in the sport. Saying Thanks

It’s been a little more than a month since we launched Bass Rankings, which means we have had little more than a month’s worth of pure joy.

We have loved the feedback and interaction with the users and anglers. We have loved improving and evolving the site. And most of all, we have loved providing this site for you all.

Which is why on this Thanksgiving, we wanted to say a heart-felt thank you.

Year in Review: PAA

We received some interesting feedback when we decided to include the PAA in our Majors World Ranking. Some adamantly opposed it, while others – particularly professional anglers – applauded the decision.

Regardless of your stance, one look at some of the names in our ranking and it’s clear that some serious talent from both other major tours fishes the PAA. Now, having looked back to see who were the movers and shakers on the 2011 BASS Elite Series and FLW Tour the last two weeks, it’s time to do the same for the PAA.

New One-Year Rankings

You asked for it, and again, we listened.

Since the release of our site, users, anglers and industry personnel have been blown away with the amount of information on our site. Yet the one thing that kept popping up was the want for a one-year world ranking to show who is the best lately. While it was possible to gather that information via our Custom Search, we wanted to make it easier for users to access that information. Hence, you will now find a one-year criteria world ranking for Majors.
