It’s said you can’t win a tournament on the first day, but you sure can lose it. Takahiro Omori nearly lost it on the first day of the Bassmaster Elite Series event at Wheeler. Omori found himself in 72nd place after bringing in a mere 10-7, as the fish he located seemed to have vanished.
Michael Iaconelli
This chart represents the points earned for each of the 21 events Michael has participated in over the past 24 months.
Michael is averaging 786.308 points per event over the past 24 months and 722.362 points per event over the past 12 months, for a generally down trend.
Trends: Our trend feature compares an angler's average points from the prior 24 months to the average points from the prior 12 months to establish whether the angler's recent performance exceeds or falls behind that of a longer span. If the recent average is within 2.5% of the average for the longer period, we consider the angler's performance to be steady, as indicated by an almost equals to sign.

Martens makes it two at Chesapeake
Aaron Martens is on fire. Not only did Martens win his second Elite Series event of the season (and eighth overall) on the Chesapeake Bay, he all but locked up the Angler of the Year title barring a catastrophic finish at Lake St. Clair. Of course, that doesn’t even tell the whole story. Get this:
Hartwell’s (possible) heroes
We’re only three days from the 45th Bassmaster Classic. So how’s your fantasy team looking? This year might be one of the toughest for fantasy fisherman. There is little history on Lake Hartwell for most of the field, since the only other BASS event there was the 2008 Classic won by Alton Jones. And Jones
Iaconelli soars, KVD falls outside top 10
This past weekend was noteworthy on a number of fronts. On the water, Michael Iaconelli winning on his home waters of the Delaware River was obviously the biggest. The victory broke a seven-year drought without a Major victory – his last Major win came in 2006 at Guntersville, though he did have six runner-up finishes
